Liability Claims

Your First Steps (After an Incident)

Your first steps following a loss, injury, or lawsuit are crucial.  Great Lakes Agribusiness is committed to protecting community and policyholders.  These detailed steps of what to do after a loss, injury, or receiving a lawsuit can help. With these steps, you can create a plan to keep everyone safe and begin the claims process as quickly as possible.

Step 1: Your safety comes first. No matter the situation, when possible, remove yourself and others away from any danger to a safe location.

Step 2: If you or others need emergency medical attention, fire department, or the police, call 911.  Also contact the fire or policy department to document a non-emergency incident.

Step 3: If possible, take photos or videos of the loss or damage.  Keep any documentation that may be helpful when reviewing your claim.

Step 4: If you receive a lawsuit, it is very important you tell us right away.  We will need to know the date you were served and whether you were served by mail, in person, or another way.

Step 5: To report your claim or lawsuit, contact your agent or call 833-364-5560 as soon as possible.
